Effectiveness of nurse led intervention on performance of activity of daily living among senior citizen with memory impairment in rural area of Bardoli

Background of study: Ageing is commonly accompanied by gradual memory and cognitive impairment, which interfere with how older adults manage their everyday activities, and increasing dependence, memory disorder are rising globally.
Research Methodology: A quantitative, pre experimental one group pretest -posttest design was used among 50 senior citizen aged 60 years and above. Data were collected using MMSE and ADL questionnaires, A nurse led intervention (walking, coloring activity, gardening, word association game, and statistically placed signboards were administered for 90 days. Care giver maintained activity checklist and researcher also visited on the 30th day, 60th day, and 90th days. Analysis included descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: Significant improvement in memory pretest mean 16.22 and posttest mean 18.10, t=9.435, p=0.05 ADL performance pretest mean 15.88 and 3rd post test is 11.80 p=0.05 memory and ADL scores were strongly correlated (r=0.87, p< 0.001), age and chronic illness showed significant association with posttest.
Conclusion: Nurse led intervention effectively improved memory and independency in senior citizen.
