Structured teaching intervention for anorexia Nervosaamong adolescent girls: A pre-experimental evaluation of effectiveness

Introduction: Anorexia nervosa is defined as the eating disorder which commonly occurs in adolescent girls and young females, males can also be affected with this disorder. In this disorder the adolescent girls do less intake of food with the thoughts to be obese, overweight and distorted figure. Due to this disorder many metabolic disturbances and physiologic changes occur in adolescent girls body.
Objectives: 1) To check level of pre and post- test education regarding anorexia nervosa among the adolescent girls in the Govt. Senior Secondary School Amloh of District Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab.
2.) To check the effect of structured teaching intervention on education regarding Anorexia nervosa among the adolescent girls in the Govt. Senior Secondary School Amloh of District Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab.
3.) To determine relationship between demographic variables and Pre-test and Post-test knowledge score.
Methodology: A Pre-experimental study involved 100 adolescent girls in Govt. Senior Secondary School Amloh of District Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab, chosen through simple random sampling. Quantitative approach was employed with data collected by a structured questionnaire and analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Conclusion: This study concluded that structured teaching has significant effect on the level of knowledge of adolescent girls.
